Pretty lady in a thoughtful moment :)

A drawing based on a painting/photo I saw in an art magazine. Pretty small, maybe 5"X7."
I was pretty happy with this one. To tell you the truth, it is part of a bigger drawing which is about 8"X10," but the back of the head and distance to her ear ended up being a little too short. I cropped. Artistic liscense. Ain't it great!

Dolly

Watercolor of my sweet Dolly, completed April 2009, 8"X10."
Not for sale. Ever. Even for a cool million. :)

Watercolor poppies, the beginning

The initial light and loose wash. Things will deepen from here once I get a chance to get back at it.
All that green stuff in the background is masking fluid. It protects the white of the paper underneath from the initial loose washes. It's fun to peel it off! Heck, all of this art stuff is just plain fun!

A few charcoals I've been working on.....

Another sketch of Blue. Started for Andrew's birthday, but I didn't quite get the proportions correct. So, it is a practice sketch!! Teaching me to slow down and get the proportions correct right from the start..........it's hard because it is easy to start working on the details too early. I'll have to keep thinking big shapes and smooth lines early on.

A little sketch of me, drawing me!! Self-portrait, about 8X10". Had to draw fast, light was changing through the window.

It was fun though!

Skyler's portrait of his little brother Evan! Skyler is 6 yrs old. His first charcoal drawing!

Impressionistic Charcoal Poppies. I had fun with this as well.
Actually, seeing it here on screen, I really love this! I like the feeling of dappled sunlight and warm spring breeze.
